Adventures of Riding the Four Corners of the United States by Motorcycle

BLOGGING THE JOURNEY

Life is an adventure, a journey; some of it planned and some of it serendipitous. Portions will bring smiles, while other segments will bring disappointment. Inevitably, there will moments of joy, others of fear, and still others of seeming boredom. Life, to be fully experienced, must embrace them all.
This blog is to chronicle, in reasonably transparent fashion, a motorcycle journey to be taken around the four corners of the United States commencing in late May or early June of 2009. Its genesis was the blog of my friend, Hugh, with whom I shared an epic adventure in 2008: motorcycling across Canada and back. His blog tells the adventures of grand proportion (at least for the four of us who were dubbed by one of our hosts in Thunder Bay, "Knights of the Open Road"). It can be found at crosscanadahugh.blogspot.com.
As with life, sharing the journey is more than just showing a collection of pictures and telling (or embellishing) stories, it is an essential part of fully experiencing it, making it more significant and complete. So that is my goal; perhaps too ambitious. But so too is a 56 year old lawyer with Parkinson's disease doing more than 18,000 kilometres aboard a 1993 Honda Goldwing.
In the days ahead (subject to getting my work done so that I can actually start the journey) I propose to set out the plan, the participants, the purpose and the preparation (thereby evidencing my love for alliteration).
